Season opening road trip with caravan. Our first trip along the coast of the Oslofjord with a visit to the oldest city in Norway Tønsberg, the military fort Torås and coastal paradise - Verdens Ende. #Tønsberg According to Snorri Sturluson, Tønsberg was founded shortly before the Battle of Harfsfjord in 871. For this reason, Tønsberg is considered to be the oldest city in Norway today. During the Middle Ages, the city was one of the political centers of Norway. There were eight churches within the city, which also made it a religious center. Today Tønsberg performs important trade and management functions, and in the summer months it becomes one of the main tourist centers in Norway. The waterfront has a large selection of restaurants, pubs and clubs. Which are located in the buildings of old boat houses. #Slottsfjelltårnet The tower on the castle hill is the main symbol of Tønsberg. The tower was built in 1888 and is 17 meters high. It was once part of a castle that can be seen in miniature at its foot. Castle Hill is located in the center of Tønsberg and is the most popular outdoor recreation area. A beautiful view of the city and its surroundings opens from the top of the mountain #Oseberg Vikingarv Center for research and dissemination of information on the unique heritage of the Vikings of Vestfold. Here are the ships "Saga Oseberg" and "Saga Farmann", which are full-scale archaeological replicas of ships. They were built by volunteers and experienced traditional boat builders using Viking Age technology and tools. #Torås fort The construction of the fort began in 1939. The fort was not built until the German occupation. Thoras was captured by the German occupation forces and its construction was completed in November 1941. The fort is well hidden in the area and is mostly located in natural gorges. After the war, the fort was operated by the Coastal Artillery, which mainly used it for training and course activities. In 1999, the fort was closed and guarded. Now the fort is open to tourists, there are hiking trails between rocks with fortifications and cannons that you can climb. #Verdens Ende The End of the World is located in the Færder National Park. A majestic view of the horizon opens up from here. There is also a full sized replica of the leaning lighthouse, with a coal basket, which was previously used in Norway. You can enjoy walking along the bridges between the islets, the coastal mountains or the harbor. About Us: We are traveling across Norway with camper Hymer Eriba Troll 530 Rockabilly.
